Steve Planté founded Organic Oasis Restaurant & Juice Bar in 1998. Steve's interest in food as a source of healing began in 1983 when he found out he had elevated lead levels from years of stained glass work. When he didn't experience relief from traditional channels, he looked to holistic methods to treat his condition. Two years later he had a blood lead level lower than the national average. This spurred his lifelong passion for creating healthy food for the community and sharing the knowledge he gained to help others.
In 2022, Steve passed the reins to Jake Davis, a long-time Anchorage chef. Jake is looking forward to continuing Organic Oasis' long history of preparing healthy, and healing food using organic and local ingredients whenever possible and providing a space for the community to come together.
